This is an exciting opportunity for a RN on 6 North Renal Vascular-Surgery! 6 North is a 24 bed unit working three 12 hour shifts. 6 North utilizes the shared governance model for decision making and has an available and supportive leadership team including Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, Charge Nurses and unit based Clinical Nurse Leader. Patient population includes diagnoses of chronic kidney disease, hypertension, diabetes, peritoneal dialysis, and hemodialysis. Our patient populations allows for long-term connections with patients and their families. Job Summary: The Registered Nurse functions under the direction of the Nurse Manager and Resource Nurse and is responsible for implementing the nursing process based on expanded knowledge and experience. The nurse is responsible for coordinating and providing safe patient care with an understanding and awareness of age appropriate and culturally aware needs. The nurse addresses the patient/family biological, emotional, developmental, psychosocial and education needs. The nurse is responsible for delivery of patient care in complex situations, coordination of patient care activities, staff development and professional self-development. The nurse is able to independently perform job functions. Required Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing; current licensure as a registered professional nurse in the State of Georgia; Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred; national certification in area of specialty preferred. Required Minimum Experience: One (1) year medical/surgical nursing practice in an acute care environment preferred. Required Skills: Ability to read, write and speak the English language; Strong customer service and interpersonal skills; Inter- and intra-departmental coordination of patient care activities; Delegation skills required; Ability to multi-task essential; Ability to function in stressful and emergency situations essential; Strong detail orientation required; Computer skills required; Personal time management skills are required; Compliance with the American Nurses' Association Code of Ethics for Professional Nurses is required; Demonstrates knowledge of and practices within parameters outlined in Georgia Registered Professional Nurse Practice Act.
Required Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing: Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred; National certification in area of specialty preferred
Required Minimum Licensure/Certification: Current/active license as a registered nurse in the State of Georgia; Must have a current BLS card from the American Heart Association on the first day of employment in position.
Required Minimum Experience: Experience with direct patient care preferred.
Required Minimum Skills: Ability to read, write and speak English language, optimize the use of technology to support clinical care and holds basic computer skills; Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills along with customer service skills required; Ability to function in a fast paced environment and respond to emergencies in using a decisive, composed and respectful manner; Possess excellent time management skills; practices nursing using evidence and analytical skills along with possessing strong critical thinking skills.
